Stefanik open to being Trump’s VP

House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik has expressed her openness to the possibility of being former President Donald Trump’s running mate in the 2024 presidential election. 

In a recent interview, Stefanik conveyed her willingness to serve in any capacity under a Trump administration, highlighting her longstanding support for the former president.

Stefanik’s commitment to Trump and the GOP

During her appearance on NBC News’s “Meet the Press,” Stefanik did not explicitly state whether she had discussed the vice presidential possibility with Trump. 

However, she emphasized her focus on ensuring a victory for the Republican party. “I’m not going to get into the content of my conversation with President Trump. I talk to him frequently. We’ve been focused on winning,” Stefanik remarked.

When pressed for clarity on her willingness to join a Trump ticket, Stefanik remained steadfast in her commitment to her current responsibilities while leaving the door open for future possibilities. 

“I would be honored to serve in the next Trump administration,” she said, adding, “But I’m focused on doing my job right now, which is a really important role as the conference chair and as, most importantly, the representative for the people of New York 21.”
